That legal bit
To legally marry in Spain there are 2 options for foreigner's. The first is that you must be Catholic and therefore marry in a Catholic Church. The second is that you must hold a legal residency permit and be registered at your local town hall. With this option you may be married in your local town hall, or with special permissions, in another venue agreeable to the town Mayor.
With this in mind, Simply Weddings will create for you a beautiful blessing ceremony tailored to suit your love for one another, which is often more meaningful to you both. Although not legally binding, your witnesses will still sign a register and you still receive a certificate. Your guests will never know the difference.
As for the legal stuff, we recommend that you do this beforehand at your local registry office or maybe in nearby Gibraltar. You can make it a simple document signing, keeping the special bits like exchanging rings and vows for your ceremony in Spain.

Costs
There is no set amount to tell you how much a wedding in Spain will cost. The main variations lie with the venues. Some have a day only price, whilst others offer accommodation and sometimes a minimum 3 nights option.
Just as in the UK, your perfect wedding can be achieved with a smaller budget or can be a full on extravaganza. Nikki will work with you to ensure you get the best wedding possible, regardless of your budget.

Guest accommodation
Whether its your nearest and dearest staying at the wedding villa with you, or your invitees staying nearby, it's recommend that your guests pay for their own accommodation.
With Nikki's help you can find the perfect accommodation for your guests at the right price, so they can enjoy a few days mini-break or a two week holiday, with your wedding as a fabulous extra bonus.

Days & times
There is no set day that you must have your wedding on, however it can often be cheaper midweek. The timings of your wedding day will depend on the heat of the day and on any night time noise restrictions of your chosen venue.

Venue visits & tasting menus
Venue visits and menu tastings can be arranged for you, as well as appointments to meet your chosen suppliers. During the summer months however this can be restricted, so it is recommended that you visit during the low season - November to March.

Remote bookings
It is not strictly necessary to personally visit the venues or meet any of the suppliers. Everything can be done remotely if you prefer. Nikki can arrange virtual tours of venues and video calls with your chosen professionals if your circumstances call for it.

Short-lead bookings
It is recommended to start booking your venue and wedding professionals at least a year in advance, however weddings can be organised and created much sooner if you have more flexibility in these areas.
